Meet Dr. Mahsa Pahlavanzadeh
I am a board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained epileptologist dedicated to providing a more personal and accessible approach to neurological care. Through my direct care practice, I prioritize time, connection, and continuity so my patients feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way. My greatest priority is making each patient feel genuinely listened to and cared for.
I specialize in epilepsy and EEG interpretation while also caring for patients with migraines and headaches, memory concerns, neuropathy, concussion, Parkinson’s disease, and seizure disorders. My approach is thoughtful and individualized, combining clinical expertise with clear communication and compassion.
I completed my neurology residency at Virginia Tech Carilion Clinic and my epilepsy fellowship at the University of Florida. After working in private practice, I founded my direct care model to create a better patient experience—one centered on access, trust, and meaningful relationships.
I was inspired by my grandfather, a dedicated internist, as well as my experiences working in rural and underserved communities. These experiences shaped my belief that excellent neurological care should be both personal and accessible.
Outside of medicine, I am married and a proud mother of two children. I enjoy spending time with my family, being in nature, and helping others in meaningful ways.
